- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard vehicle maintenance, standard component inspections and repairs, preventive maintenance, and diagnosis of mechanical and electronic problems
- Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
- Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of their complaint once assigned a task
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines
- Tire and wheel maintenance, including tire/wheel safety training within 90 days
- Preventive maintenance training and qualification within 90 days
- Brake hydraulic trained and qualified within 90 days
- AC & Heater operation and basic system checks
- Cargo handling/transfer, liftgates, including identifying leaks, operating lift gate, and adding fluid to bring to proper level
- Charging systems, including visually inspecting batteries, cleaning connections, checking condition of belts, and replacing and adjusting belts
- Cranking systems, including inspecting and testing batteries, visually inspecting cables and cranking motor, cleaning battery cables, connections, and starter, and replacing batteries
- Lighting system and electrical accessories, including repairing minor wiring problems, repairing minor lighting problems, replacing bulbs, lenses, and simple light assemblies, and installing or replacing accessories
- Clutch, including lubricating throw-out bearing, linkage, shafts, and cables, and identifying proper clutch operation and adjusting
- Cooling systems, including checking and adjusting coolant levels, visually inspecting system for leaks, making minor repairs such as hose replacements, fan shrouds, leaking fittings, etc., recognizing permanent anti-freezes and their requirements, using refractometer, and using pressure tester
- Drive axles, including inspecting housings for leaks and changing oil and filter, if required, and cleaning breathers
- Drive line, including lubricating drive line
- Diesel/gas engines-all engines, including checking and adjusting oil levels and identifying unusual noises and oil leaks
- Fuel systems, including replacing and priming fuel filter, checking gas and diesel fuel system components for proper integrity and condition
- Steering and non-driven axles and alignment, including lubricating grease fittings, checking and adjusting fluid levels, and checking all steering components for wear
- Suspension-chassis and cab, including identifying makes and models, identifying normal operation, identifying and repairing air leaks, identifying malfunctions and making basic repairs with moderate supervision
- Vehicle coupling system (PM), including lubricating fifth wheel plate and slider mechanism and operating slider mechanism
- Performs other support duties as assigned to support operations

- Valid Driver's license (Class G2 at least) required
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred

Summary
As a Technician II (310T Apprentice Technician), you will perform minor to average routine maintenance and repair services on various types of vehicles under close supervision.
Task assignments are directed by shop management to encourage development in a productive manner.
Job Details
Shifts:
2-week rotating shift: Day Shift (Monday to Friday 6:00am – 2:30pm) or Afternoon Shift (Monday to Friday 2:30pm – 11:00pm)
Compensation:
$21-$31 per hour depending on the level of apprenticeship + $1.00 per hour afternoon shift premium
